Today was my arty day, unfortunately the weather was uninspiring, but there was plenty to see and design. Im thinking of.creating a logo, but its been a bit hard to find any design that totally fits my needs.
My wanderings around Bristol took me to a fantastic music shop, but ultimately only the materialistic things seemed to make me happy. Why do people not care about others, or at-least not feel guilty when they don’t? Is it too much to ask? Why are there only a few caring people? Why do people look at those who do care with such admiration, only to carry on on their ways? Why do people not care? Why have we never cared?
So, after a fairly productive day I’m off to an independent cinema to watch The Artist.
Well, that was fantastic! I have to say it does have to be watched in a cinima, its like all scilent films they are designed for audiance reaction.
Probably the one thing I adore completely in my room is my radio. Its noting fancy, just a bog standard 80s FM/MW/LW/SW radio. But what I love about it is its tone. There is a dial to set it, but the simple tone it gives for voices is impeccable. Such warmth, simple, emotive tones. Maybe thats why I love radio 4 so much?
It was on BBC iPlayer a little while ago, and I loved it.
Set in the 1950s, and office worker and a housewife set to gain their freedom from the ‘nuclear 50s iconic family life’ by planning to go to Paris, where to no surprise the wife would work and the husband would find what he loves.
Leonardo DiCaprio seems to be improving with age I have to say, ironically the more he ages the more his films seem to drift further into the 1950s and 60s.
And by far this seems to be a good film, nothing groundbreaking in cinematic or story terms, but the story is human. So. If you value freedom and a break from the drudge of the 9-5 office job, watch it. Its all that you dream, and all the horror that you fear.
I feel like a film. Jason and the Argonauts was on the BBC recently, might watch that on the iPlayer. Then again, I am in the mood for a Black and White film, something like Brief Encounter or Casablanca, but I have watched them.
That reminds me.
Good GOD I CAN NOT WAIT to see that. So Im saving it for someday special!
